Prestige style and affluence are epitomised in the superb Oxford replica of this 1950s car. At first glance the S1 type did not appear much different from its predecessor the R type but it was entirely new, with a host of improvements. The S type was officially introduced in April 1955 and our version is based on a car launched a year later in 1956. The bodywork features the famous Mulliner fastback styling in Dawn Blue . The majority had automatic gearboxes although a very small number - only about 16 - were fitted with a manual gearbox. Power steering also became an option from 1956 onwards. This model carries a French registration AA-953-RR.
